You are invited to the 8th Annual Jacob Pettitt Memorial 5K Walk/Run to benefit the Jacob Daniel Pettitt Scholarship fund on November 6, 2021. We will provide a quality in-person 5K event to accommodate the serious competitor, as well as participants of all levels.

The Cardinal Strut Virtual Run/Walk option is available for those who can't be present in person and want to run or walk the race on their own time and course, or even on the treadmill, to show their support for this event.

All proceeds from both events will benefit the Jacob Daniel Pettitt Scholarship Fund!

Race Start Time 8:30 AM

Registration Fees:

Youth under 18 - $25 thru race day
Adult Early bird thru Oct. 31 - $30
Standard registration Nov. 1-Nov. 6 - $35

Online registration for the In-Person 5K ends Thursday, November 4th at 6:00 PM.

VIRTUAL 5K registration is open online through November 5th.

Shirts are guaranteed participants to who register by 10/31/21! Limited quantities of extra shirts will be available at packet pickup on a first-come basis for those registered 11/1 to race day, but are not guaranteed.

All fees are non-refundable. Our race runs rain or shine. The Jacob Pettitt Memorial 5K race will be timed by Go! Sports Timing.

Cardinal Strut Virtual 5K Option --
Can't be there in person, but want to support the event?... Sign up for the Virtual 5K and run or walk 3.1 miles anytime between now and race day on any course, or even on a treadmill. Get your event t-shirt for the Virtual 5K with registration by 10/31!

Top 3 Overall Male and Female

Age Group Awards for Top 3 Male and Female - 14 and Under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 +

*5K awards are based on Gun Time.
*Because we cannot verify race distances, courses, and times for the Cardinal Strut Virtual Run/Walk, awards will not be available for this event.

Jacob left us far too early on September 22, 2013. His passing brought about a revival in the Shoals community as well as in Surry County. Jacob had high standards and always strived to be the best at all he did. Through this event we aim to honor those standards by coming together to raise money for an annual scholarship to be awarded to someone who shares those standards. The first scholarship was awarded to a member of Jacob’s high school graduating class of 2016.
